We went to Estero Llano Grande State Park for a Guided Birdwalk and were not disapointed. The group was small ( 5 people total ) and we saw and heard alot of different birds. It really helps having more eyes scanning the trees and bushes for movement.

It saddens me to have read last week that this StatePark did not get an exception from the Border Wall funding and might be inaccessible within the next 1 or 2 years. …with a Ruffed Grouse in Mount Blue State Park. The Grouse lived behind out Campsite and was used to People I guess.. She came out every morning and evening to visit. I forgot to tell the wife about her and one time when she got out the grouse chased her back in side the RV.
