The killdeer is nesting again at the Lake. I walked Lilly back down the little embankment trying to get a picture of the the Vermillion Flycatcher and saw that the Killdeer ist nesting. I have not looked for the nest yet but when she saw us she did the old “injured” bird routine.
I am still not convinced, but all the bird nerds around me seem to think this is a Red Tailed Hawk. I saw him swoop in and land on on a utility pole where he hung out for a good 20 min. ( but never turned around to give me a good front view.

We took the dogs for a walk in the morning and when we got back we saw a bird sitting on the powerline…turns out it was an American Kestrel, tiny little Falcon
