Very nice , well kept Nature Park that offers plenty of seating and viewing areas without having to walk miles after miles. In the evening Red Crowned Parrots come to roost in or just outside the park. A thick canopy of trees covers the trail and there is a nice pond with ALOT of turtles. […]
we are wintering in South Texas again. Last year we got very lucky with our neighbors as they were quiet, polite and non intrusive. This year we don’t seem to be that lucky. Diesel Truck idling, door slamming, hammering, grinding, powertools and dogs yapping seem to be the daily norm these days. I am already yearning […]
Our first visit to Edinburg Wetland this Winter. Plenty of White Pelican, Cormorants, Great Heron and Snow Egrets to see. We also saw a Inca Dove and a Wood Stork. Well worth the $3 to walk these well maintained nature trails.
one thing I like about going out in the Rio Grande Valley is that its usually priced reasonable. We tried a new place yesterday and were in shock of the prices. $9 for a softpretzl ( good size , but still…ITS A PRETZL ) $9 for a pint of blueberry ale ( texas brewed ) […]

Nov 1st they started filling the Lake in the RV Campground we are staying for the Winter. The Water comes from the irrigation system in town and gets pumped up from the Rio Grande. Interesting to see the difference each time we go to the pool.
We went to Estero Llano Grande State Park for a Guided Birdwalk and were not disapointed. The group was small ( 5 people total ) and we saw and heard alot of different birds. It really helps having more eyes scanning the trees and bushes for movement.
