Plans for 2019

Time to gather information and plan our Adventure for 2019.

If anyone has suggestions for place to visit or stay please comment. I still work 8 to 5 Monday to Friday ( and some weekends )  so I need good cell and data coverage. We prefer State Parks and Nature but understand that’s not always possible with my job.

Leaving the Rio Grand Valley middle of April heading to San Antonio for a week then hugging coast towards Florida

Disney World for a week ( Flower & Garden Festival I think )
Nashville / Memphis

Laura Ingalls Wilder Home, MO
Tour de Nebraska

Crazy Horse Monument

Balloon Fest Albuquerque ???
Yuma or Rio Grande Valley ???

  1. In September after Colorado, take a trip to Moab, UT and see Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Then stay at Goosenecks State Park at least 1 night (park on the rim) on your way to NM or AZ.

  2. We recommend the state parks in New Mexico in all but the coldest months. We bought the annual pass for $225 which allows us to boondock for free in any New Mexico state park for 13 months (we bought the pass on October 2 and it’s good through the following October 31). We can get hookups for an an extra $4/night for electricity/water, and if sewer hookups are available, we can pay another $4/night for that. All the parks set aside at least half of the developed sites as first come first serve, and we never had a problem getting a site. Some of the parks also have dispersed camping (Elephant Butte Lake SP has some great boondocking near the lake). Our blog postings from October and November have lots of pics and details about the parks where we stayed ( Enjoy!!
