La Lomita Chapel, Mission TX

Another beautiful historic site that one the borderwall is build will be inaccessible to the public and slowly disappear.  Alot of the local business on the same stretch are already shutdown for good since.

Built in 1865, and handed over to the “Cavalry of Christ” some sort of Priests on Horseback that catered to the religious needs of the remote area  in southern Texas. The Chappel was rebuilt a few times and has been unchanged since 1925 and seems to be still an active place of of worship. There is also a large picnic area adjacent to the Chapel and a public ( and disgusting) restroom  and plenty of parking.
