Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge, Texas

It felt so good to go back to Santa Ana… and now they allow bicycle riding from Thursday to Sundays. I will have to check that out  soon.

It was still brutally hot so we only took a small hike to Willow Lake , which was drained and full of grass but one of the other Resacas was full, interesting to see how “life” moves with with the water. There were hundreds of tiny lizards everywhere and a good amount of butterflies. Some GreenJays and Redwinged Blackbirds were at the feeding station near  the Visitor Center.
