Used to be the McAllen Botanical Garden and must have been unattended for a few years. Its seems that just recently the town started to clean it up and reopened it as a anture center.
The good thing is there are already established trails (that could use some better marking) and there are many wildflowers that give butterflies and birds a chance to hide and feed. All of the trails add up to around a mile and there are plenty of benches to sit down and enjoy the flowrs, butterflies and birds.
The downside is that is seems to be directly in the landing path of the airport.
In our visit we saw rabbits, kardianals, trashers, wrens, monarch butterflies and some more birds and butterflies I could not identify.
